November Favorites

HELLO! Welcome back to my blog. Today is DAY TWO of Blogmas! Woooooooooooo. It's going well so far. Of course this is only the second day so it'll probably go downhill fast but what can you do? 

Todays post is my November Favorites. November has been super busy and full of travel so I don't have too many favorites, but the ones I do have are mighty great. Let's hop into it!

Starting off with beauty products:

LA Girl Pro Conceal Concealer in Porcelain - $5

I recently bought this LA Concealer because I had never tried any LA Girl products and the let me tell you, THE PRICE WAS RIGHT. I'm so glad I got this because I have really been loving it for the month of November. This is such a brightening product and really looks great as a highlighting concealer. Yes, it does cover blemishes and dark circles, but it works so well as a brightener. The only downside to the product is the applicator - it's one of those plastic brushes, which gross me out. Other than that, I've been liking this. 

Soap & Glory Archery 2-in-1 Brow Crayon in Brown & Out - $14

Duane Reade/Walgreens recently started carrying Soap & Glory products which is SO EXCITING considering there's a Duane Reade a few steps from my apartment and no Sephoras or Ultas in sight. I was super excited to try this product because I feel like I've heard a lot of people rave about Soap & Glory's brow products. The Archery 2-in-1 Brow Crayon is really nice because it not only comes with a thick brow pencil, it also comes with a brow gel. 2-in-1 products are helpful because if you're traveling or want to take a product in your purse with you, its just a one stop shop for brow BEAUTY! This product is great because it's so quick. With the thicker applicator crayon, filling in your brows takes less time. When I'm in a hurry, this has been the product I've reached for. 

Ardell Flawless Tapered Luxe Lashes (800) - $3.99

I'm not one to wear false lashes. I don't think I have the patience to actually become good at them, nor want to waste the money on them. But I will indulge on special occasions or nights out that I want to take my makeup to the next level. I always prefer Ardell Lashes and if I'm not using the individual lashes for a little extra volume, I go for the Flawless Tapered Luxe Lashes for extra glam. These aren't that difficult to apply and actually look relatively ~natural~ considering they are falsies! 

Smith's Rosebud Salve (Tube) -  $6

This has been a favorite of mine for a long time, but I hadn't bought it in awhile until I was at the airport at the end of October and saw it! I really love this lip gloss/balm because it makes your lips look really sleek without looking too greasy. Plus it smells so good (like Rose!) and leaves them all moisturized and pretty. The tube lasts forever, so even though $6 is a little steep for a lip gloss/balm, I think it's worth it. The ingredients are bomb too!

Dove Detox and Purify Dry Shampoo - $5.29

I'm a sucker for dry shampoos and texturizing sprays. The reason I buy so many is because I'm so picky. Often texturizing sprays and dry shampoos leave my hair in worse shape than they were before. I'm so picky about the texture and feel of my hair and can't stand it to feel even the slightest bit oily. I know a lot of people go days without washing their hair, but I physically cannot go one day without washing it. But when I don't do that, or can't do that, I do use dry shampoo. I love the Dove Detox and Purify Dry Shampoo because it's inexpensive, you get so much product in the can, and I truly feel that it detoxes and purifies my hair. Brunettes beware, this shampoo is super white when you spray it on so brush it out before you style it!

Chukar Cherries - Various Prices

I love chocolate covered things. And I really love cherries. PUT THOSE TOGETHER....AND YOU HAVE YUM! Okay, I'll relax. But seriously, Chukar Cherries are so good. All of the fruit comes from the Pacific Northwest without trans fats and artificial flavors. I've had Chukar Cherries + other chocolate covered things from their company and have loved them all. And I know a lot of people aren't fans of cherries and that's okay because they have a huge variety of other chocolate covered fruit and snacks! If you're looking for a chocolate-themed gift, these are great. There are a bunch of cool holiday sets online right now as well!

Q&A A Day: 5 Year Journal - $14 (though it was only $9 when I bought it a few months ago)

I love this journal! My friend Taylor introduced me to it and since she showed me, I've been hooked. The journal contains 365 questions (one for each day, duh) and spaces for you to write your answer for five years. So the idea is that you answer the same questions and see how it changes or doesn't change through the five years. I've never been able to journal, as much as I would have liked to, so this question a day thing has been so easy to get done each day. I also tape in receipts, ticket stubs, and other memorabilia for my days on the day it happened so I have a little more to look back on. 

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life (Netflix)

IT'S BACK!!!!!! Oh my god. You have no idea how excited I was for this. I don't want to give anything away and I agree that it had its ups and downs (that beginning, yikes!) but I ended up really liking it. It was just so nice to be back in Stars Hollow. The nostalgia is real. PLEASE tell me your thoughts about those last lines below....

Black Mirror (Netflix)

If you're into shows that simultaneously interest and frighten, Black Mirror is for you. This show is insanely good. Basically, each episode is stand alone, focusing on technology and the negative effects it has. It's basically this suspenseful and satirical show that give you SO MUCH unease about the modern world. It'll definitely make you think twice about social media and how far technology has come. WATCH IT.

Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty - $9.52 Paperback 

DAMN. This is such a great book. I don't think I could hype it up enough. JUST READ IT. It's by this amazing author, Liane Moriarty, who writes female-centered thrillers (similar to Gone Girl and Girl on the Train). This one is her most popular and well-known book so I'm sure you've heard of it, especially considering an HBO miniseries starring Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman based on it is coming out in the Winter of 2017. It's really excellent and I was sitting on the Subway and literally GASPED out loud when the big twist happened.

AUGUST FAVORITES

I'm aware that this post and video is incredibly late but it's better late than never, right? Anyways, I have some pretty awesome favorites in this post. In addition to this post, I've created an August favorites video to go along with this on my YouTube channel! 

Here are my thirteen favorites for the month!

L’Oreal Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer ($10.99)

The Magic Lumi Primer from L'Oreal has always been one of my all time favorite face primers but I'm got a renewed love for it this month. It's been about a year or two since I've actually purchased and used this product and I forgot how amazing it is! It's a great product for those with dry skin as it keeps your face moisturized and glowing. I love using this under my foundation and concealer for the glowiest looks!  

Tarte Colored Clay CC Under eye Concealer (Light/Medium) ($24)

The Tarte CC Under Eye Concealer is a handy little concealer which is especially good for dark circles. It's not the best product for blemishes because the consistency is a little thicker, similar to the Tarte Creaseless Concealer, but it works really well as an under eye product. I actually got this for half off its original price at Ulta in early August. I was worried it wouldn't be the best product, considering the sale, but I was happily surprised by how well this product works! 

e.l.f. Ultimate Blending Brush ($6)

Oh my GOODNESS. I am LOVING this make up brush. I'm a huge fan of e.l.f. brushes because of their quality. Plus, they're incredibly inexpensive. This is a great brush for blending in concealer and foundation because the consistency of the bristles is a great mix between hard and soft. 

L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer (Brunette) ($8.99)

If you're looking for a dupe for the Anastasia Brow Wiz, this is the product! I've been searching for a dupe for it for years, because I have always preferred the Brow Wiz over any other product and it's hard to keep spending so much on a product that I have to replenish often. The product is double-ended: One end is a spooli brush to brush out your brows and the other is a thin pencil. I find myself reaching for this instead of the Brow Wiz everyday because of how great it is.

Lorac Pro Palette 3 ($44)

I won't go into much detail about this since I wrote an entire blog post on this palette, but suffice to say, this is the best palette. You should definitely try this out if you're in the market for a new eyeshadow palette!

Kylie Lip Kit (Koko K) ($29)

I caved. I bought some Kylie Lip Kits. And I LOVE them. They're actually incredible. The formula is very nice and leaves your lips feeling soft and moisturized all day long. The lip stain itself is long-lasting and looks great even after you've been doing random shiz all day. Stay tuned for a full video on Kylie Cosmetics!

Wet 'n' Wild Megalast Nail Polish (Undercover) ($1.99)

This nail polish, which you can see on my fingers in both the video and the photo below, is a really lovely color. It's most closely resembling a 'salmon' shade and I think it looks really nice on the nails. 


Plus, it was only $1.99 and actually has the ability to last a long time (especially when paired with a topcoat) so you should check out Wet 'n' Wild polishes if you want to try out something inexpensive. They're a lot better quality than the Sinful Colors line you find at Walgreens/Duane Reade and the brush is a bit thicker, which makes it easier to apply the product!

Quay Sunglasses (KOSHA - Clear/Silver) ($50)

For one of my fashion favorites this month are the Quay KOSHA sunglasses in Clear/Silver. I've heard so many good things about these sunglasses so I decided to try them out. I love the size and shape of these on my face because they're big without being oversized. Loving these, though I'm still annoyed they're not pronounced 'Qway' instead of 'Key'. 

Zara Basic Star Print Button Down (32.95)

My second fashion favorite is this Zara Basic Star Print Button Down shirt. It's from their Basics collection and unfortunately, I can't find the link online. This shirt is so comfortable and is really flattering (hopefully). I adore the star print and think it's really fun and funky. 

Caryn Cast ‘Groove is in the Hutt’ Print ($10)

Ugh. How cool is this print? I found it at a little shop near my apartment which stocks really cool and unique items. This print involves two of my favorite things, 90's music and Star Wars. Plus it matches the color scheme of my room so I can't wait to put it up! The artist, Caryn Cast, makes some really awesome prints so you should go check her out.

The Daily Face by Annamarie Tendler ($16.95)

I've got two book favorites this month and the first is Annamarie Tendler's makeup book. It has incredible beauty tips and tricks that are helpful for anyone who likes makeup. Also, I think she's so cool. Check out her Instagram for makeup and lampshade inspiration. (you'll understand if you check out her Insta)

Barefoot Contessa Back to Basics by Ina Garten ($35)

My last book favorite is Ina Garten's Back to Basics. This cookbook is for anyone who likes to cook and wants to make delicious food. It's definitely the basics, but gourmet and easy to make! Her recipes are DELISH and I recommend them to any and everyone. (Check out her Instagram for inspo)

Parks and Recreation

My TV favorite this month is actually Parks and Rec, one of my favorite shows of all time. My love for the Pawnee gang has been reignited. You should definitely watch it if you haven't already. It's streaming on Netflix now!

Ghostbusters (2016)

UGH. I loved this movie. What a kickass bunch of ladies. Please check this out if you haven't already. It's out on DVD October 11th, you're welcome!

Holiday Dress Favorites

Hi Guys! Today I thought I'd share with you 6 of my Holiday dress favorites. These are from TopShop and Zara (plus one from River Island) because they are my absolute favorites places to shop as of late - and I'm loving their dress selections! I thought these would be perfectly appropriate for the Christmas season as I'm really loving incorporating green and red into my wardrobe now - along with different textures like velvet, lace, and sequins!

November Favorites

Hey guys! Today I have for you my November favorites. These all happen to be beauty favorites and I've picked out some things I've been obsessing over and things I think are great for this holiday season.

1. Tarte 'Lights, Camera, Lashes' Mascara ($21) - Currently, this is my favorite high-end mascara. I love this product because it's truthful when its advertising says that it 'lengthens, curls, volumizes, and conditions'. My lashes have never looked so thick and volumized, as well as curled and long. 

2. ColourPop 'Lunch Money' Highlighter ($8) - I've had this product in a few of my last posts because I think it's a great highlighter for the Winter months. It's a true 'soft, light gold' and looks so beautiful on the cheekbones. Plus, ColourPop is unbeatable for affordable and high quality makeup.

3. Ardell False Lashes ($3-$10) - I've been loving wearing false lashes lately. It's a bit weird, as I never even wanted to try them until this year, but I think on the right occasion, they add so much to a makeup look. My favorites are the Demi Wispies and the individuals lashes - all from Ardell because I think they do them so well and so affordably! 

4. ColourPop 'Tootsi' Lip Pencil ($5) - I've also had this product in my posts before but I recently got the lip pencil version of this, which I've been loving. It's a cool-toned grey beige and I think it's so pretty and as I said, you can't beat that price!!!

5. NARS 'Bahama' Velvet Matte Lip Pencil ($26) - For my last favorite I have the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in 'Bahama' which is a beautiful pinky brown aka a great #YLBB shade. I'm obsessed with NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils because they're so easy to apply and so long-lasting and pretty.

September Favorites

Hi October! It's so weird that we're already at this point in the year. I've got five favorites for the month of September - five all time favorites if I'm being perfectly honest.

1. NARS Lip Gloss | Turkish Delight ($26) - This has become one of my favorites lip glosses this month. It has a fantastic, non-sticky formula and it's such a perfect sheer, yet colorful shade of pink.

2. Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit | Light/Medium ($40) - I only got this 10 days ago, but this is one of the best palettes I've ever bought. I had been thinking about buying it for awhile and I'm so glad I did. The two setting powders are perfect for concealer and the highlighter is such a wearable, shimmery shade. And of course, the three contour shades are lovely and have such a great formula.

3. H&M Shirt Dress ($20) - I absolutely love this dress! It was perfect to wear when it was still kind of hot and it's perfect now, as it gets cold. I love it. 

4. Target Shag Rug | Grey ($35) - I had been needing a cute little rug for my room and this one was a perfect size and it's soft and fun to walk on. Luckily, it was really affordable too.

5. Amazon Kindle | Paperwhite ($100) - I love reading and lately, I've had to commute to work a bit longer than usual and so I've been utilizing this thing like crazy. I'm about to start the hyped up 'Girl on the Train'. I especially love the Kindle Paperwhite because it lights up when it's dark, so you can read whenever you want.

August Favorites

Here are five of my favorites for the month of August!

1. E.L.F. Small Tapered Brush: I love E.L.F. brushes because they're well made and they're only $3. This specific one is a favorite because it fits under your eyes perfectly, making it easy to set your under eyes with powder. 
2. Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in 'Innocent': I've sung the praises of this product time and time again so it's no surprise it's a favorite on this list. The color 'Innocent' is a really pretty nude shade and it's one of those great 'Your Lips But Better' shades. 
3. Swank Boutique Skinny Frontal Exposure Bralette: This bralette is quickly becoming my favorite thing to wear, ever. These are so comfortable, inexpensive, and fashionable. I love wearing them under t-shirts for extra support, but a lot of comfort. I love wearing them under dresses and tank tops, because they give an extra bit of pizazz to an outfit. They're only $12 so it's no wonder I went out and bought four of them.
4. Revlon ColorStay Gel Envy Nail Polish: I have been loving this gel nail polish because it's long-lasting, beautiful, and affordable. It stays on your nails without fail and has such a great range of colors. I have 'Wild Card', 'Pocket Aces', and 'Up the Ante'.
5. NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in 'Mysterious Red': I just want to declare to the world...I LOVE NARS. This Velvet Matte Lip Pencil is so easy to apply and stays on forever. It's such a great product and looks fantastic on the lips.

May Favorites

1. OPI Nail Polish in 'Big Apple Red' - As I've gotten older, I've toned it down a bit with my nail polish. I got rid of most of my collection, opting to keep the more subdued colors. Lately, I've been wearing OPI's 'Big Apple Red' non-stop. Other than being completely appropriate for someone living in the Big Apple, it's just a great color and looks fantastic anytime and anywhere. 

2. Kat Von D's Tattoo Liner - I've definitely recommended this product before but I went through a hiatus of using it (because I was too lazy to get a new one) and now that I've gotten another one, I've been using it non-stop. I love this product so much - it slides on your lid easily and makes a long-lasting line that looks effortless and chic. 

3. Biolage Strengthening Shampoo - I've made a concerted effort to get my hair healthier and following my hair cut, one of the steps I took to do this was to start re-using my favorite shampoo brand Biolage. It's a bit pricey but it's a fantastic product - leaving your hair healthy and strong.

4. H&M Long T-Shirt - I LOVE THIS. I have this in both the striped and black variety. Because I'm so short, it works as either a t-shirt or dress. It's versatile, comfy and completely affordable. 

5. TV Favorites - I've been watching Prison Break for the past few weeks on Netflix and it's a definitely binge-worthy and addictive. I recommend it. In addition to it, I've been watching the newly released 3rd season of Orphan Black. It's fantastic so far.

March Favorites

Time for my monthly favorites!

I've only got five this month, as I didn't end up trying too many new products, but these five are few in quantity but full in quality. Enjoy!

 


1. L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation: This is definitely no surprise, as I've already reviewed it and sung my praises, but I'm mentioning it again because it's just that good!

2. Milani Eyeshadows: I mentioned these in my first impression face post, but I can definitively say that these are a great product, and I can't wait to explore more shades. (My review in short = they're long-lasting, have great pigment, and are totally affordable)

3. H&M Sweatshorts: Oh my goodness, I absolutely love these. I popped into an H&M just browsing and ended up trying these on and was happily surprised at how much I enjoyed them. I have pretty big legs and so it's hard to find comfy and cute shorts sometimes, but these look really flattering and fit me nicely. I also love how casual they are - I feel comfortable wearing them to bed or even out running errands. They were only $13 and I ended up getting both a gray and a black pair! 

4. Dark Places by Gillian Flynn: Wow, I loved this book! If you liked Gone Girl, which was written by the same woman, then you'll love this. It's the same tone - a mystery/thriller novel - but it explores new and exciting themes. I won't give anything away but I will tell you that it's full of twists and turns and you won't be able to put it down!

5. The Following: In the same vein as Gillian Flynn's books, The Following is a mystery/thriller show that revolves around a serial killer and (you guessed it!) his followers. I'm a bit late in watching it since it's already on its third season, but I caught up very quickly. It's so exciting and a bit scary, but I really enjoyed that about it. I will warn you, if you're squeamish about blood and violence, I would skip this show....and the material is very dark, as it's about killers, so just be aware. If you want to watch it, the first two season are on Netflix - I recommend it.

I cannot believe it's the end of March. In just one month, I'll be finishing my Junior year of college and beginning my last summer of (somewhat) freedom. I can't believe how fast time flies!

February Favorites

Happy March! I cannot believe we're already here. I've got spring break coming up at the end of NEXT WEEK and then just a short month until my junior year of college is finished. It's truly insane how fast time flies. It's also March 5th and I've got a snow day! New York is crazy.

Today I'm doing my February favorites - just a few things I've been loving in the month of love. 

1. Lorac Pro Palette 2 {I've been featuring this a lot and wearing it everyday for the past month and a half since I've gotten it. It's a great range of shadows that range from shimmery to matte and it's great to just pop in your bag to take with you}
2. Zara T-Shirts {I think Zara does some of the absolute best clothing for an affordable price and I truly adore their t-shirts. They're so soft and comfortable. I recently picked up two of their striped t-shirts, which are my go-to shirts as of late}
3. Dior Iconic Overcurl Mascara {You've probably seen this on my blog in the past two months so it's a bit obvious it's one of my favorites. I got a gift card from my lovely best friend over Christmas and I thought I'd go for it and buy a fancy luxurious mascara. It's a great product}
4. Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Pencil {Rimmel makes a fantastic lip pencil. The formula is really one of a kind. They're creamy, long-lasting, and affordable. I've been loving 'Addiction', a berry/deep pink shade}
5. New York Fashion Week {NYFW Fall 2015 did not disappoint.  I was lucky enough to go to a few shows because of my job and I really enjoyed the whole experience. I'm not expert on fashion but taking it all in was just wonderful. These three looks (from left: Narciso Rodriguez, Donna Karan, Carolina Herrera) were some of my favorites from their prospective collections}

Best of Beauty: 2014

Hey guys! Here are my top 14 Beauty Products of 2014. These are the products I've been using non-stop this year and have left such a huge impression on me. In my opinion they're the absolute best and my favorites! 

L'Oreal Magic Lumi Primer 
My favorite primer of 2014 and one of my most-used products is this primer from L'Oreal. It's incredibly hydrating and leaves your skin glowing and dewy. It's great for under your foundation and concealer but also works well to blend together with your foundation. It's only $12 and will last you such a long time.

NYC Liquid Liner 
This is one of my favorite liquid liners of all time. It's insanely pigmented and applies evenly and easily. It also stays put all day long, you don't have to touch it up ever. Plus, it's under $3 so it's affordable and the best bargain for your buck!

Tarte Creaseless Concealer 
I've mentioned this a bunch on my blog because I love it so much. I had been searching for a concealer that didn't crease into the fine lines under my eyes for ages and found it in this Tarte product. As the name might suggest, it doesn't crease and also gives incredibly coverage. It fills in the dark circles under your eyes and leaves the area hydrated! (plus it's waterproof!)

Lorac Pro Palette 2
This might be a bit of cheat since I only recently bought this product, but it impressed me so much that I had to put it on my Best of Beauty 2014 list! This palette has such a wonderful range of cool-toned colors that vary from matte to shimmer shades. I honestly don't need anything but this palette to create beautiful eye looks. It's super pigmented and blendable and I love it!

E.L.F. Studio Blush in 'Tickled Pink'
This was my most used blush other than Benefit's 'Rockateur' this year. It's the perfect peachy, soft pink shade that works well for absolutely any makeup look, any skin tone, at any time of the year! And it's super affordable at $3!

Too Faced 'Everything Nice' Palette
This limited edition holiday palette from Too Faced is incredible. If you read my blog, you'll notice I use the products from it in almost every single makeup related blog post. The shadows are so beautiful and pigmented and have made for such amazing makeup looks for me lately. My favorite eyeshadow was 'Mauvelous'. The palette also comes with two blushes, a bronzer, and a highlight shade that I have been obsessed with as well. At $56 it was a huge bargain, especially since all of that would have cost me upwards of $400!

E.L.F. Concealer Brush
I put this on my December Favorites post as well, and it's well-deserving of 'Best of 2014' as well. This brush is affordable, high-quality, and perfect for blending in concealer and setting concealer using powder. I use this brush everyday and I honestly can't live without it now.

L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara
I go through countless mascaras because I'm always searching for my absolute favorite. I still haven't found 'The One' but this mascara from L'Oreal comes pretty close. It's perfect for separating your lashes and making them look long and beautiful. It doesn't smudge and drop those annoying fibers on your under-eye area either. It's a pretty fantastic all around mascara!

Too Faced Highlighter in 'Inner Light'
This highlight shade also comes in the 'Everything Nice' palette I mentioned and has become my #1 highlight shade since I bought the palette a few months ago. I have honestly only used this highlighter for the past two months, exclusively, because it's so good. It's a bit gold toned with just the right amount of shimmer to make your face just a bit more beautiful, really working to highlight the best parts of your face!

Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick in 'Cava' and 'Musk'
I know this is two lipsticks in one, but I had to mention them both. These two lipsticks have been on my lips atleast every other day for all of 2014 because they're the best! They're both berry-toned, but subtle enough to wear everyday. They look great with my skin tone and are so creamy and lovely! 

MAC Lip Liner in 'Whirl'
Another heavily mentioned product on my blog this year; this lip liner is the perfect 'Your Lips But Better' shade. It's a berry/plum shade and I love using this on my lips whenever I want a bit more 'umph' and color on my lips! A definite winner this year!

OPI Nail Polish in 'Big Apple Red'
I adore red nail polish and this has been on my nails more often than any other color this year. I wear it on my toenails everyday and it's that perfect red for your nails. Plus, it's fun to wear this shade because I live in New York and it makes me feel extra festive!

This has been my signature scent of 2014. I first got a rollerball of this about a year ago and kept getting rollerballs until finally my mom was kind enough to give me the big bottle as a present. It's feminine, elegant, and fruity and is really perfect for me at this point in my life!

Again, this was a frequent addition to my blog this year because it's amazing. I love this product because it quite honestly does everything. I can't sing it's praises more than I already have!

December Favorites

1. E.L.F. Concealer Brush {I picked this up in mid-December and I've been using it every single day since. It's the perfect brush to blend in concealer and it's also perfect to set your under-eye area with powder, as it fits perfectly in the space below your eyes. Plus, it's only $3}

2. Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer {this is my #1 favorite concealer at the moment. I've heard a whole ton about this from UK beauty bloggers, and I decided to try it out and test the hype. I was absolutely floored with how much I loved this product. It covers up all your blemishes and is fantastic for brightening up your face}

3. Remington Diamond Shine Slim Wand {ever since I picked this up, I've been using it almost every day. I love the barrel size and it allows you to make super tight ringlets, or gorgeous bouncy waves. I cannot stop using it!}

4. H&M Circle Scarf {it's incredibly freezing right now and I've been using this scarf non-stop. It's super affordable and goes with everything}

5. Broadchurch {I watched the entirety of the first season of Broadchurch in honestly one day because it's so fantastic. Starring one of my favorites, David Tennant, it follows him and his partner investigating a murder in a small town in England. The eight episode season follows the murder and the town, who are rocked by the investigation and murder. It's so enthralling and dramatic and fantastic, and it's a really smart crime show that isn't overly graphic and really goes deep into the individuals in the town. OBSESSED!}

2014 Favorites: Movies

Hey guys! I thought I'd start off my 2015 posts by doing some 'Favorites' of certain things throughout 2014. My first list is my favorite movies of 2014! With the Oscar's coming up, I thought it'd be appropriate!

Favorite Movies of 2014

1. Guardians of the Galaxy {fantastic - Chris Pratt was in his element}

2. X-Men: Days of Future Past {another great film, I love that they could combine the new and old characters without making it cheesy and campy}

3. Captain America: The Winter Soldier {I loved this more than the original, especially because the relationship between the Captain and Natasha}

4. The Grand Budapest Hotel {Wes Anderson has done it again. This film had so much heart and intelligence, plus it was hilarious}

5. The Lego Movie {this movie is awesome (get it?) and really enjoyable}

6. The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies {sad to see the LOTR/Tolkien films over, but it was such an enjoyable film}

7. 22 Jump Street {hilarious. so hilarious}

8. Gone Girl {loved the book and the movie adaptation was wonderful}

9. Snowpiercer {crazy, twisted, awesome}

10. Obvious Child {so intelligent and funny}

Favorite Palettes for Holiday Makeup Looks

1. Urban Decay's Naked 3 Palette: This is a fantastic holiday palette, which I've been using more frequently lately. Every eyeshadow is warm and pink toned, which can be really great for creative festive makeup looks. My favorite shadow, Trick, is a great pink toned gold shimmer. This palette is a great bargain for the amount of product you're getting, and it will last you forever. I got mine a year ago when it came out and I'm no where near being done with it! {$54}
2. Too Faced's Everything Nice Palette: I talked in depth about this holiday, limited edition palette from Too Faced in this post here, but it deserves another mention. I absolutely love this palette because it is just a fantastic use of your money if you want to get some quality products. Plus, it has perfect warm toned and festive, shimmery shadows that will spruce up a holiday party {$54 originally, but I think it might be only available on amazon at this point}
3. L'Oreal Colour Riche Quad in 'Rose Nude': Here's another fantastic holiday palette, which goes along with my love of pink/warm toned shadows. This is super affordable and the shadows are creamy and pigmented. It's honestly the only thing you need when doing your eyeshadow! Plus, it's easy to bring along with you, unlike some of the clunkier palettes in this post!

November Favorites

1. Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer in 'Nude Eclipse' {one of my favorite lip products of the month. I love nude lips and this gloss is super pigmented and natural, plus it's only about $5}
2. Too Faced Everything Nice Holiday Palette {took the plunge and bought this at the beginning of the month, and now I've not gone a day without using it. So much variety, it's honestly everything you need for a great price of $56}
3. MAC 'Whirl' Lip Pencil {I mentioned this awhile ago, but this is a great 'Your Lips But Better' Shade for Winter. It's got berry tones which I love for the holidays and it's long-lasting and looks great on any skin tone. The $16 price tag is worth it in my opinion, but Rimmel has a great alternative in their liners called 'Beige'}
4. H&M Platform Boots {my most worn shoes this month other than my fave sneakers and flats, these are super comfortable and give me extra height (I'm only 5 Foot) These are affordable at $35 and go with everything}
5. Alt-J 'This is All Yours' {alt-j's newest album is fantastic. I've been listening non-stop. They're one of my favorite bands and it's awesome to get new music form them. My faves are 'Every Other Freckle' and 'Warm Foothills'}

October Favorites

Happy November! I've got some October Favorites for you today - a few things I've been consistently loving in this past month.

October Favorites by eaperry 

1. Maybelline Rocket Mascara - This has been a favorite mascara for me during the end of October so I thought I'd include it. I change my mind about my mascara favorites almost every week and this has been my go-to. It's fantastic for lengthening your lashes and separating them. I'm definitely going to do a post about it soon
2. Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner - This is a fantastic liquid liner. My everyday liquid liner for the past 5 or so months has been the Kat Von D Liner, but this has become another favorite. It's waterproof, so it never smudges and it's jet black and easy to apply.
3. Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick in 'Cava' - I know, I know, I talk about this all the time....but it's just too good not to talk about. It's especially awesome as we come into Fall - it's a fantastic neutral berry shade. These lipsticks are so easy to apply and as their name might suggest, are creamy and soft. 
4. Free People Galloon Lace Halter Bra - I'm sure you've seen this bra on almost everyone, understandly so. I love going braless but sometimes I want a little more support so this is a great option. I have one in black and I think these are great for under t-shirts or even to accent a top. You can also use these bras for a little more sex appeal - I love how they look under white shirts.
5. Uniqlo Heattech Tights - Since it's getting colder, tights have become a staple of my wardrobe. They're amazing for under dresses, skirts, and big sweaters. These Uniqlo tights are some of my all time favorites - they're incredibly comfortable and don't rip.
6. Francesca's 'You've Cat to Be' Studs - I love these little kitten earrings, they're so cute and represent my love for kitties perfectly! 
7. Gilmore Girls on Netflix - In early October, Gilmore Girls finally went up on Netflix. This was fantastic news for me because it's one of my all time favorite shows. My sister, mom, and I all watched it together when it first aired and it's truly a special show for my family and me. Even though I already own it allllll on DVD, having it on Netflix is amazing because now I can watch it from every single device.
