Warby Parker Home Try-On

Sunday, February 28, 2016

Hey everyone! Today's post is again about Warby Parker, one of my favorite eyeglasses and sunglasses brand. I love how easy it is to find cute, funky, and modern glasses - at a great price. They have a really awesome program called #WarbyHomeTryOn, in which you get to try on 5 awesome pairs of glasses or sunglasses for free!

I recently participated in the program and tried four wonderful pairs of glasses.

Here are the glasses form top left, going clockwise!
1. Haskell in Crystal with Blue Jay - These are my absolute favorite. I love the accent of blue and the fun touch of the clear frames. They're funky and modern, and so unique. I would love to have these glasses as my permanent ones.
2. Burroughs in Canton Blue - These are so cute. I love the shape and color of these, they really make a fun statement.
3. Laurel in Oak Barrel - These are the most classic of the four pairs and look the most similar to my own current glasses. They really complement my brown hair.
4. Kensett in Atlantic Blue - Another really cute pair. I find myself being drawn to the colors of Warby Parker - they're so unique and retro. These were a bit too big for my face, but the color was amazing.

The fifth pair was so similar to the Laurel glasses that I thought I'd just show you guys these four!

Do you think you'll try out Warby Parker's #HomeTryOn?
Which are your favorites?

One Brand Makeup Look / MAYBELLINE

Saturday, February 20, 2016

Hi everyone! Today's post is a makeup look using just one brand, Maybelline! Maybelline has consistently been one of my favorite brands because of their amazing products and affordable prices. Since I have so many amazing Maybelline products, I thought I would do a fun makeup tutorial using them, and them alone.

To start this look, I primed my T-zone using the Maybelline Baby Skin Primer. It leaves a perfect base for the rest of your makeup. I didn't want a heavy foundation so I used the Dream Fresh BB Cream to create a seamless base. Next, I went in with two concealers. First, to conceal my blemishes and dark circles, I used the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer (no surprise here!) and then the Better Skin Concealer to add a bit of brightness under my eyes. It's great because it's so lightweight that it doesn't feel heavy to add onto the other products.

To finish off my face, I set my under eyes, forehead, and the rest of my T-zone with the Dream Wonder Powder

Next up, I'm using The Nudes Palette to create this beautiful gold eye look. But before that, I used the dark brown matte shadow in the palette to fill in my eyebrows. I used a spooli brush to comb through them, making the hairs appear more natural!

For my eyes, I first went in with the light brown matte shade into my crease, blending it until the color got darker and darker. To give it more definition, I went into the crease with the same brown matte shade I used for my eyebrows, darkening it further. When I found it was dark enough, I then went in with a flat eyeshadow brush and packed the gold shimmery shadow from the palette onto my lid. To give it even more shine, I wet my brush beforehand, making the color pop.

To finish off my lids, I blended some of the gold and browns into my lower lash line, to bring the look together.

Because I wanted the gold shadow to be the main attraction for my lids, I chose not to use liner for this look. If I had decided on it, I would've used a brown pencil liner to smudge out the look.

Next up I used Maybelline's Great Lash Mascara in 'Blackest Black' to lengthen and volumize my lashes. This is one of my favorite mascaras of all time because of its consistency and ability to keep my lashes looking thick and lengthened all day long. I love it!

For a bit of face shimmer, I went in with the shimmery white shadow from The Nudes Palette to give my cheeks a bit of highlight. I love this palette because as you can see, I used it not only for my eyes, but my brows and cheeks! It's incredibly versatile.

For a final touch, I wanted a bold lip so I used my favorite lip product at the moment, the Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lip in 'Orange Shot'. It's so easy to apply, looks amazing, and stays all day!

I hope you guys enjoyed this Maybelline makeup look! Do you have some favorite brands that you could do a #OneBrandLook with as well?

New In / Warby Parker Spring 2016

Tuesday, February 9, 2016

Hi everyone! For today's post, I'm talking about Warby Parker, the affordable prescription eyewear and sunglasses brand that makes getting cute and funky glasses easy. I love them because they make buying glasses easy, fun, and stylish!

As an eyeglass wearer myself, I find that the process of actually trying on, buying, and finding that perfect pair is so difficult! Warby Parker's approach to glasses is refreshing and fun...and most importantly, easy! Because of this, I'm really loving their Spring 2016 Collection, which actually takes inspiration from the circus and that means fun and bright frames! I love the new colors they've debuted, Maraschino and Peacock Green, they really bring out that circus vibe!

One of my favorite things about this brand is is that, (just like their existing collections) for every pair sold, Warby Parker distributes a pair to someone in need. They're also affordable! Both sunglasses and eyeglasses are $95 with free shipping and free returns.

The styles below are my favorites of the collection! I love how good the new color, Peacock Green, looks on the 'Laurel' style.

I'm also loving Warby Parker's first sunwear collection of the year called Sun Collective! They've revamped some of Warby Parker's favorite frames with custom colorways, crystal details, and redesigned lens shapes.

My favorite Sun Collective pieces are Laurel 16 in the beautiful Bellini and Haskell in Pearl Horn with Toffee! What are your picks?

One last fun note about Warby Parker is that you can also try on glasses at home with the 5 pairs, 5 days Free Trial Home Try-On Program. It makes buying glasses online even easier than it already is with Warby Parker! I'm planning on ordering my own 5 pairs for the Home Try-On Program and I'll be updating you all with my favorites!

Let me all know if you try out the #WarbyHomeTryOn so we can compare!

Glamorous and Romantic Valentine's Makeup!

Friday, February 5, 2016

Hello everyone! With Valentine's close approaching, I thought I would share a few Valentine's looks. The first one is a glamorous and romantic look perfect for date night, girls' night, or a night in! (if you want)

I love Valentine's Day because I'm a hopeless romantic. I hope this look inspires some of you, if you also celebrate! If not, it's a great look for a fun night out!

Here's how to get this glamorous and romantic makeup look:

1. Start with a primer. Because I'll be wearing full foundation, I want the primer to help the look stay all through the day and on whatever Valentine's night plans you'll be on! I'm using one of my favorites, Maybelline's Baby Skin Primer, which is affordable and helps reduce the appearance of pores. I placed it in my T-zone, focusing on the area near my nose.
2.  Next up I'm going in with a long-lasting and loved foundation, the L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte. On holidays or big nights where you want to be sure you look and feel comfortable (especially if you're on a date) wear one of your favorite foundations. This is a great one because it keeps your skin looking matte and stays on all night!
3. To cover any redness or discoloration, I used the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer around my nose and under my eyes. It instantly (get it?) covers dark circles and looks natural and beautiful in person and in photos!
4. Because it's a holiday, I went an extra step further and covered any extra blemishes with the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, one of the best concealers I've ever used.
5. To set all of that product, I used my favorite setting powder, the Rimmel Stay Matte. You won't be shiny and it'll keep your product in place all night!
6. Because I'm using a few mattifying products, I wanted to give myself a lot of highlight. I used The Balm's Mary-Lou Manizer on my cheekbones, beneath my brow bone, my cupid's bow, and down the bridge of my nose. I love this highlight because it's natural, but also glam.
7. To give myself more color, I bronzed with Benefit's Hoola Bronzer.
8. To add a bit more color, I used Benefit's Rockateur Blush on the apples of my cheeks.
9. To fill in my brows and reshape them, I used Anastasia Beverly Hills' Brow Wiz in 'Dark Brown'. This is one of the best eyebrow products you can buy. Despite being $21, it lasts a long time and looks natural.
10. Because I'm doing heavy eyeshadow, I primed my lids with the Lorac Behind the Scenes Eye Primer.
11. To create that beautiful romantic pink eyeshadow look, I used 'Trick' from the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette across my lid. It's a super shimmery pink shadow that looks lovely when blended with other shadows in the palette. To give it even more pigment, I sprayed a bit of the NYX Setting Spray on my brush and then patted it on. I blended the shadows 'Nooner' and 'Liar' into my crease to create definition.
12. I gave myself a little playful cat-eye (which is so appropriate for Valentine's) with the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner.
13. One of my favorite mascaras, the L'Oreal Telescopic was a perfect way to finish off the look, because it lengthens and volumizes your lashes!
14. Because it's Valentine's Day, I wanted to go all out with a pink lip. I started by lining my lips with MAC's 'Whirl' Lipliner and then....
15. Coated my lips with the YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick in #1 'Nude Beige' because it's pretty, feminine, and pink as can be.
16. Finally, I set the look with the NYX Matte Finishing Spray, to keep everything in place!

(Excuse my weird face in this??? The makeup is still cute, though)

That's my first Valentine's look, I hope you all liked it!
